A ithead of the 2023 presidential elections in Nigeria, a lot of political permutations and reactions have continued to spring up about who will become Nigeria’s next leader in 2023.
President Muhammadu Buhari will finish his tenure in 2023 and he is constitutionally barred from seeking another term in office which automatically means Nigerians will be having a new president by 2023.
While some politicians have publicly declared that it is too early to speak about 2023 presidential ambitions while issues of governance need to be attended to, it is understood that politicians, as well as political parties, won’t wait till the last minute and have started oiling political mercenaries ahead of the general elections.
It was, therefore, not too surprising when pictures of campaign vehicles supporting the presidential ticket of Kayode Fayemi , the incumbent Governor of Ekiti State.
the posters were revealed across social media platforms by the chairman of Ikere local government area of the state, Femi Ayodele.
The LG chairman, who apparently is a staunch supporter of the governor, confirmed he published the posters while chorusing the praises of Fayemi as a worthy candidate for the position.
He told journalists that the credentials of the Ekiti governor as a politician make him very suitable for the office, adding that the governor’s commitment, resourcefulness and pedigree bestows on him the capability to lead the nation in the next political dispensation.
However, the governor has distanced himself from the actions and comments of Ayodele.
Speaking on behalf of his principal, Fayemi’s chief press secretary, Yinka Oyebode, claimed that the governor is not aware of the online posters and that Ayodele is only expressing his personal wish and opinion about Fayemi.
