Three months after $22.7bn loan request by President Muhammadu Buhari was put on hold due to some challenges as reported, the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has today June 2 given approval of the same.
The request was granted on Tuesday by the lawmakers during a plenary session after the committee on aids, loans, and debt management gave its report.
The Senate had previously announced its approval for the loan.
Naija News recalls that the Nigerian Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed in March disclosed that the Federal Government has decided to postpone its $22.7 billion external borrowing plans due to current realities in the global economic landscape.
