COVID-19: Gov. Fayemi Offers Man Appointment After Rejecting Son

A video of a young man and his father went viral and trended for hours on the social media a day ago after a drama that ensued between the two as a result of fear of been infected with Coronavirus.

Naija News understands that the young man who hails from Ekiti state but resides in Lagos State was denied entrance into his father’s house after he arrived home from Lagos.

The man who revealed his name as Mr Femi Adeoye, a retired official of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) had rejected his son from entering into his apartment after his arrival from Lagos State.

When asked in the viral video why he acted in that manner to his child, the man said that he was not satisfied with the test carried out on his son which shows negative.

According to him, he is trying to abide by the guidelines of the government and the health agency which noted that a person coming in from another region where COVID-19 disease is recognised with must be quarantined for fourteen days to determine his status.

Mr Adeoye was scared that his song might have been affected with the Coronavirus, and hence would not let him enter into his house. He noted further that he doesn’t want a situation where his son becomes a ”distributor” of the virus in the state, hence, insisted that his son must present himself to the statement government COVID-19 Taskforce officials.

However, Mr Adeoye’s act has been applauded and received the recognition of the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi who invited him to his house on Thursday, April 30.

Governor Fayemi after an exchange of pleasantry and commendation, offered Mr Adeoye an appointment to the disciplinary Nigerian dad to be the COVID-19 Response Ambassador in Ekiti State.

Meanwhile, a middle-aged man identified as Jamilu Shinkafi who tested positive for coronavirus infection has been declared wanted by the Zamfara State government, Naija News report.
