The Osun State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Michael Adunola and his accomplice, Atinuke Olawoyin for allegedly killing Michael’s wife, Esther and their one-year plus daughter, Glory.
They were arraigned before the Osun State Magistrates Court sitting in Ile-Ife on Tuesday for Murder.
It was reported that the headless bodies of the deceased were spotted around Isale Agbara area of Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that Michael and Atinuke committed the crime on May 23, 2020, around noon in Ile-Ife.
It was reported that they conspired to kill Esther and Glory, and severed their heads and hands.
Osanyituyi further stated that the offence contravened sections 242, 319(1) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji denied the plea of the defendant and charged the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send a copy to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in the state for legal advice.
She ordered that the accused be remanded in the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Ilesha, and adjourned the matter till July 28, 2020, for mention.
