The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi Odundun II has handed over a 48-year-old-man to security operatives for raping two of his own daughters.
The man, identified as Femi Onifade, reportedly fled to the king’s palace to avoid mob action after his actions were exposed.
The suspect was said to have sought refuge in the traditional ruler’s palace to escape the wrath of the community.
Onifade allegedly raped his daughters, aged six and nine, and fled to the king’s palace after his evil acts were exposed.
However, the Deji of Akure handed Onifade over to officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Confirming the development, NSCDC’s spokesman Olufemi Omole said the defilement occurred at No 27 Liberty Hospital Road, Oluwatuyi, Akure.
Omole said the suspect who initially denied the allegations but later owned up, said he laced a bottle of drink with some powdery substance and gave the girls to drink before carrying out the evil act.
The suspect blamed his wife’s long term absence for his actions.
“Medical examination from Federal Medical Centre Annex in Akure revealed that both kids have lost their hymen.
“The state government has shown interest in this case and the welfare of the children has been fully guaranteed,” the NSCDC spokesperson noted.
He added that the suspect would soon be charged to court.
