Governor Ben Ayade-led government has requested that officials of NCDC/PTF coming into the state be isolated for fourteent days and undergo test for Coronavirus before they can carry out their duty.

The Commissioner of Health in the state, Dr Betta Edu, who is also the Chairman of Coronavirus Task Force, further stated that the state protocol must be obeyed.

“They must be subjected to the state protocol and go through it; I have no problem with their coming. “There is nothing personal; we don’t have any issue with them coming to the state but they have to go through the state protocol.”

“We have an NCDC staff has have been in Cross River State for over two months, he came in when Abuja was not an epic centre.”

“He has been here working with us, closely, validating what we are doing.”

“Even the people who came in from the Ministry of Defence were isolated for two weeks.”

“They finished their isolation; they came to my office on Monday and paid a courtesy visit. I don’t know why they are making so much drama about it or the media is making so much news about it.”

“It shouldn’t be a headline in the first place; it should be a normal thing to do, for the safety of the people who you care about. There is no big deal about it, when they come, we quarantine them, after the quarantine, they go and do their work, is it not?” she asked
