Oyo State Confirms Another 23 Cases Of COVID-19

Oyo State Records First COVID-19 Death

Oyo State governor, who doubles as chairman of the state’s COVID-19 task force, Seyi makinde has today another twenty-three (23) new cases of Coronavirus in the state.

He made this known in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter account on Tuesday.

According to the governor, the cases are from Ibadan South East (5), Lagelu (5), Oluyole (4), Ibadan North (2), Ido (2), Egbeda (2), Akinyele (1), Ona Ara (1) and Ibadan South West (1) Local Government Areas.

Makinde said, “The COVID-19 confirmation tests for twenty-three suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Ibadan South East (5), Lagelu (5), Oluyole (4), Ibadan North (2), Ido (2), Egbeda (2), Akinyele (1), Ona Ara (1) and Ibadan South West (1) Local Government Areas.

He gave the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state as 387

The governor thanked the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for the donation of medical supplies, while calling on other organisations and individuals who have supported the state’s effort to contain COVID-19.

He urged residents to call the hotlines of they start to feel symptoms of COVID-19 such as: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache and shortness of breath.

The governor further thanked the @NCDCgov for the donation of medical supplies.

He further thanked the @cacovidng, all other organisations and individuals who have continued to donate to efforts to contain COVID-19 in Oyo State.
