1. NCDC Reports 387 New Coronavirus Cases In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 387 new cases of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria. In a post on its official Twitter handle on Friday night, NCDC reported that Lagos State recorded 254 cases, the Federal Capital Territory recorded 29 cases, Jigawa State had 24 cases, Edo State recorded 22 cases, Oyo State recorded 15 cases, Rivers State recorded 14 cases and Kaduna State had eleven cases.

2. FG To Pay Unemployed Youths N20,000

The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has agreed to pay the sum of twenty thousand naira, (20,000), to unemployed youths, for three months. Naija News reports that the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), who disclosed this at a news conference on Friday, said the development is part of President Buhari’s agenda to reduce the unemployment rate in the country, adding that the payment is to maintain public and social infrastructures in the country.

3. Presidency Reveals Who Buhari Trusts The Most

The Presidency has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari trusts women more than men. Naija News reports that the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President, Garba Shehu, made this comment during an interview on NTA.

4. Buhari Appoints New Appeal Court President

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem, as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal (PCA). Naija News reports that the appointment was made known in a statement on Friday by Buhari’s Media Assistant, Garba Shehu.

A month after the US President Donald Trump, promises to send ventilators to Nigeria, to combat the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Government says it is yet to receive it. Recall that the US President Donald Trump, On April 28, during a telephone conversation with President Muhammadu Buhari, promised to send ventilators to support Nigeria.

9. AFCON 2021: CAF Holds Talks With NFF, Others

The COVID-19 outbreak has left various sports competitions across the world on hold with several clubs undergoing self-isolation as a precautionary step to prevent the spread of the virus.
